Circle Circus meets Cracked Glass technique

Today's card showcases the Circle Circus stamp set which is part of the National Scrapbooking Special this month. Who doesn't love a way to get some free brads?!? I love this card and I will say that I will miss Bermuda Bay when it retires next month.  Speaking of retiring colors, make sure you've placed your orders for your favorite colors on the Fond Farewell list.  Some of them are starting to run out so make sure you figure out what you need and get your orders in now before they run out of your favorites!   If you haven't heard, Stampin' Up! is retiring 30 colors as part of the Color Renovation.  For more details, check out my blog post here.  

The technique featured on this card is the Cracked Glass technique.  To achieve the crackled look, first stamp your image(s) on neutral cardstock.  Then rub versamark over your entire piece of paper and heat emboss it with Glassy Glaze enamel.  Repeat versamark and Glassy Glaze embossing another 3 times.  Place this piece in the freezer for a few minutes.  Remove from freezer and bend paper so it will crack.  Repeat cracking in different directions until you achieve you desired look.

Woo-hoo.... we have a winner!

I {Heart} Hearts..... times 3

Today's project is one of my current favorite cards.  It uses the new i {Heart} Hearts stamp set from the Occasions Mini.  What's even better about this card now, is that if you purchase this stamp set now, Stampin' Up! will donate $2.00 to the relief efforts in Haiti.  Click here for more details.

I love this color combination of Real Red, Whisper White and Basic Black.  On this card the three red hearts are cut out and raised using stampin'dimensionals.  The black piece in the background was run through the Big Shot with the new Stampin' Up! exclusive Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.  LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that new embossing folder!  (It can also be found in the Occasions Mini).  And see that fabulous edge on each side, that was created with the new Scallop Trim border, which can be yours for free with a $50.00 product order.  This new punch can be found in the Sale-A-Bration catalog.

Wanna step up this card just a little?  Spray some shimmer paint mixed with alcohol on the Basic Black piece ofter it's been embossed.  Then, to one of the hearts add a tiny greeting from Tiny Tags stamp set, punched out with the Medium Jewelry Tag punch (both new products in the Occasions Mini).   My friend Deb Valder showed this card when she did a presentation at the Phoenix regional.  It was also her swap at Leadership, and because she was also my roomie, I got to see her stepped up version of the card, too.  I wish I had thought to take a picture of the stepped up version.  My upline, Sue, liked this card so much, we got to make it ourselves at her meeting earlier this month.  Fun!

Stampin' Up! specials and what's new
