Party Hearty Sweet Always scrapbook page

Here's a project I made awhile ago with my scrapbook club.  It's one of my favorites so I just had to share.  Plus, it's from my youngest daughter's first birthday.  Since she'll be two in less than two weeks, I figure I'd better share now! 

The designer paper, sweet always, is retired, but I just just love the color combination!  Each vertical panel is stamped with a different image from the Party Hearty stamp set. All of the elements are raised with dimensionals.  Here's a close up of each page, along with some details on the page.

Are you wondering how I got the pink edge on my title?  You may bot be able to tell in this photo, but I layered two top notes.  I cut them out (at the same time!) with my Big Shot.  I then used my paper snips to trim the perforated edge off the Regal Rose top note.  Something else to mention is the party hat image was colored in with markers to get the multi-colored result.

This page has some fun stuff going on....   The center of the Celebrate You image was created using a Build-a-brad.  I just love playing around with those!  And did you notice the glittered cupcake frosting?  That's one of my favorite parts of this page.  That was created using heat and stick powder, with fine glitter.  Don't know what heat and stick powder is?  Or don't know how to use it?  Here's a mini tutorial for you:

1.  Stamp your image in Versamark.

2. Apply heat and stick powder to stamped image.  Shake off excess.

3. Use heat tool to melt heat and stick powder.  It will turn smooth and sticky.

4. Apply glitter to image.  Shake off excess.

5. Use heat tool for just a couple seconds to set the glitter.

6. Finish your project!

That's it.... super simple and creates such a wow!  You can't get that same result using a two-way glue pen with glitter.

Priceless Scrapbook Page

Here's a 12x12 layout I created a couple months ago for my Scrap Club. 

 

I started out working with Whisper White, Basic Black and Real Red.  Once I pulled my pictures together I realized that the girls were wearing the same turquoise color so I traded in some of my Basic Black for Tempting Turquoise. This was fun layout to put together.  The half circles were made by cutting circles with the Circle Scissor Plus and then cutting them in half. I then used the Emboss Resist technique for my images.  I first stamped the heart and small flower images from Priceless in versamark and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  Then I applied real red ink using a stampin sponge and wiped over it with a paper towel to remove the ink from the images.  The title was made using the Big Shot Go-Go Boots alphabet (for the smaller letters) and Serif Essentials alphabet (for the larger letters).  To make the larger letters I cut two letters using the Big Shot, one in black one in white.  I then sponged some real red over the letter and some tempting turquoise around the edges.  I placed the white letter on top of the black letter so they were a little offset from each other, creating a shadowed look.   The photos are mounted on tempting turquoise before being attached to the real red.  The white box is for journaling that I did after I took this picture.  There is some tempting turquoise sponged around the edges.  Lastly, to add interest to the red areas around my photos and title I clear embossed the same heart image in some of the open areas.

Scrapbook Page - Polka Dot Punches

Today's project is one I made a few months ago during Sale-A-Bration but since I hadn't shared it yet I thought I would.  When I went to the Stampin' Up! Leadership conference in January my husband and two youngest kids came down to Florida with me.  Of course we couldn't return home without a stop at Disney. :)  When I was working on this layout to show my class attendees the SAB products I never envisioned my Disney pictures here.  However when I was lookingthrough my photos I noticed the green in my husband's shirt and the blue skies went perfectly so I just couldn't ignore that!  So, here's the two page spread:

 

The base of each page is 12x12 so saffron, with an 8 1/2x11 page of sahara sand.  I added several pieces of the SAB designer paper that I got for free.  I also added the free SAB ribbon.  The pictures were mounted on certainly celery before they were added to the layout. The heart embellishments were created using the Polka Dot Punches SAB set.  I stamped the image in whisper white craft and heat embossed with white ep before punching them out with my full heart punch.  They were attached to the layout using dimensionals.  Here's a close up the first page:

 

When I was putting together the first page I couldn't find a pattern of the dsp that I liked for the top left area so I decided to create my own pattern.  I took a piece of bashful blue and ran it through the Big Shot with one of the Stampin' Up! exclusive texture plates.  It's hard to see in the picture, but there are small raised dots on that piece - coordinates great with the dots in the the dsp right below it and the dots in the punched hearts.  The second page is pretty straightforward:  

 

I'm feeling like this layout needs something else - I'm thinking title or journaling - probably both.  But I can't figure out quite where I want to add that.  Any suggestions?  If you have any either email me at stacey@staceystampinspace.com or post a comment here.

Snow Scrapbook Page

We didn't get much snow to speak of this winter, which disappointed my 5-year old, Madison.  But we did get one day where there was enough for the kids to actually get outside and enjoy the hill in our backyard a little.  Here's a layout we did at my scrapbook club.

 

The base is Brocade blue and the designer paper is from the Sale-A-Bration pack. I used the snowflake from Best Wishes and more and stamped it in Whisper White.  I added glitter to the ends of the snowflake courtesy of my 2-way glue pen and dazzling diamonds.  I layered the photos onto Bashful Blue and then added the decorative border using the new Eyelet border punch.  Don't ya just love that punch?!? 

On the left page I used scraps of whisper white for my journaling.  Here's a close up of that page.

 

That's Madison enjoying her one opportunity all winter to sled in the snow.  On the left page I used the ABC alphabet lower for the letter in the word "snow" except in place of the "o" I used the snowflake from Holiday Blitz.  I stamped that same snowflake in Brocade Blue on the Bashful blue in the area where the word "snow" is placed.  Also, the letters are stamped in Brocade Blue on Whisper White and layered on Brocade Blue before being attached to the rest of the page with dimensionals.  I added glitter to the snowflake and popped it up with another dimensional to make it stand out just a little more.  Here's a closeup:

 

The other girls are my oldest daughter, Sydney and some of her friends.  That's Sydney in the pink hat.  They all had a great time that day!

Hi Again

I just realized I haven't posted in awhile and I thought I'd show you just a little bit of what's been keeping me busy:  

That's my daughter Camryn, a.k.a Cami.  And she's just one of four girls running around the house.  And this is typically what happens when I do get into my stampin studio:

Haha!  Despite Cami's ability to tear apart my stamp room 10 seconds after we get in there I do have lots of projects to share.  Tomorrow I've promised myself that I am going to take pictures, get them downloaded and start posting again.  Until tomorrow.....

Thanksgiving Scrapbook Pages

Yesterday I shared with you a two page spread I created for Chirstmas.  Today I'm showing you what I did for Thanksgiving.  The idea for this layout came from somewhere on Splitcoast Stampers.  Here's the full layout:

 

I used 12x12 really rust as my background for the pages.  I stamped the leaf images from Fall Flair (retired hostess set) in really rust ink on the really rust paper.  I took a piece of 8 1/2 x 11 kraft cardstock and stamped the canvas image (now retired) all over it.  I then tore the paper in half.  I attached really rust eyelets (also retired) to the top and bottom part of eachhalf of the kraft cardstock and then ran a piece of natural hemp twine (NOT retired) through the eyelets and tied it in a knot.  These were then attached to my background.  All the pictures and journaling boxes are layered on Old Olive before being attached to the background.  The journaling boxes are very vanilla with the leaf from fall flair stamped in really rust.  I did stamp off once first to create a softer image.  The "Gg" image is from Defining Alphabet and the Gratitude saying is from Define Your Life.  The title was created using my square punches, Short Order Alphabet, very vanilla, more mustard and pumpkin pie.  The leave were created using the big shot and the leaves die.  Lastly, the pumpkin image at the bottom is part of an image from Thoroughly Thankful.  It was stamped in black stazon and the colored using watercolor crayons and my aquapainter.  I think that covers all the details but if you have any questions just leave me a comment and I'll be happy to answer.  Here's a close up of the individual pages for you:

Holiday Scrapbook Page

Today I'm going to share with you a layout that we did at my last scrapbook club workshop.  I'm so excited that I have finally started working with a scrapbook club group - it forces me to get some of my own pictures into an album.  Here's the full layout:

 

I used 12x12 textured whisper white as the background, along with 8 1/2x11 riding hood red.  The riding hood red pages were stamped with the Baroque Motifs flourish stamp in riding hood red ink. I used some strips of Riding Hood Red and Kiwi Kiss dsp from the Bella Rose collection.  The flower accents were created using the five petal punch on riding hood red paper twice.  The flowers were adhered together and the center is a kiwi kiss flower from the trio flower punch with a silver brad in the middle.  All these pieces were attached together and then mounted with a dimensional onto a 1 3/4" circle of kiwi kiss.  The Peace, Joy and Love was created with the Big Shot and the Christmas 2008 is stamped with Short Order Alphabet and Numbers.  The "C" is Christmas is a piece of chipboard was the cut out with Big Shot and the Simple Serif alpha die.  It was then covered with Real Red craft ink and heatembossed with Iridescent Ice.  The Merry Christmas sentiment is from a retired hostess set.  It was stamped twice, once in Riding Hood Red and again in Kiwi Kiss.  Both layers are attached with dimensionals.  Here's a closer shot of each page:

A Gift from My Daughter to her Friend

Today' I'd like to share with you a birthday present my 14 year old daughter made for her friend.  She was so proud of how it turned out and so was I.  These days it's rare that she actually wants to spend time with me, but by the end of this creative session, we both agreed that we needed to start scrapbooking together again.  We plan on starting next week and I really hope we will both stick with it.  I'll be sure to share our projects with you all.

So here's her birthday gift ensemble:

Sorry about all the shadows in the picture, I only had a short window of time to take the picture!   She hand stamped the gift bag with the small butterfly from Flight of the Butterfly in Regal Rose and Tempting Turquoise.  The picture frame was made using one of the $1 frames from Michaels.  First, the edges were painted with pink paint .  Then she used the retired DSP Flowers for You and used two different patterns to cover the frame.  She used wide regal rose grosgrain and turquoise grosgrain to cover the seams between the two papers.  The friends image is from the retired set Love Matters and is colored in with SU markers before being stamped on whisper white.  The butterflies on the frame are stamped in lovely lilac and tempting turquoise.  There is a third butterfly that is hiding behind the treat bag so you can't see it in the above picture.  I did take a picture of just the frame, but it didn't come out very well at all and of course, now we don't have the frame anymore.

I do have a close up of the treat bag, which is the first project that I have posted here that was created using the Big Shot.  My daughter thought the Big Shot was just the coolest thing!

This was so easy to create.  We just used the Bigz top Note die to cute the Flowers for You DSP.  We folded it in half and attached it to the bag of M&Ms.  The greeting is from the Family Phrases stamp set and is stamped in tempting turquoise on whisper white and then mounted on tempting turquoise.  The flowers were punched from Regal Rose, Lovely Lilac and Tempting Turquoise paper using the Trio flower punch.  Then some dazzling diamonds glitter was added to the centers using the 2-way glue pen. Viola - a quick and easy treat bag!

I've gotta say, I really like how this card turned out and I really didn't give her much guidance.  She started out with a standard card size of tempting turquoise, folded it in half and then did the greeting and the butterflies.  That's when she asked for help.  She said it needed something else.  So I suggested the scallop edge, and then we started playing with adding the white strip.  The colors used in the card are Tempting Turquoise and Regal Rose.

So, that's what my daughter, Sydney, gave her really good friend for her birthday.  I just love when my kids create handmade gifts.  I feel like I've taught them something they can use forever.

Gift Set

My daughter Madison graduated from preschool this year! 

I can't believe she is growing up and going to Kindergarten in the fall!  Doesn't she look so grown up?   

I decided to put together a gift set for her teachers.  Here is a picture of what they got:

and the bag I made to hold everything:

You can click on the thumbnails to enlarge the pictures.  I'm still working on figuring out the right size images to put in my posts. It's a definite learning curve for me!  Anyway, here are the details..

The journal was created using the SU On Board Art Journal.  I covered it first with Pretty in Pink.  I used the SU spiral punch to punch the openings for the binding.  I then layered a piece of Close to Cocoa and then a piece of retired DSP, I think it was called Love Notes.  I embellished using a piece of wide chocolate grosgrain and a smaller piece of wide rose grosgrain.  The "P" is a chipboard letter from On Board Simon Upper.  I covered it first with Pretty in Pink craft ink and then embossed with Iridescent Ice EP.

Next up.... a post-it note holder and pen.  I started with a coaster and covered it with the same DSP that I used for the journal.  The back side of the coaster was covered in Pretty in Pink. I wrapped a small piece of Pretty in Pink around the binder clip and that is what is used to keep the post-it notes in place.  I tied a piece of wide chocolate and wide rose grosgrain ribbons to the binder clip. The pen is an RSVP pen you can pick up at your local office supply store.  I simply opened the pen and then slipped a rolled up small piece of the matching DSP inside. 

Next is a bag of kisses.  I used the large cello bag from SU and folded it in half and filled it with some Hershey Kisses.  For the topper I used a piece of Regal Rose card stock with a piece of DSP from the same retired package.  The thank you accent was created using several SU punches and the retired set Riveting - although I could have used Circle of Friendship for a similar look.  I liked the small flower from Riveting, which I raised up with a dimensional.

Now here's the card.  I started with a standard card size of Regal Rose. I layered a piece of Berry Bliss DSP on first and then a piece of Pretty in Pink across the top.  I tied a piece of Purely Pomegranate double stitched ribbon around the Pretty in Pink layer and stamped my greeting in Purely Pomegranate.  For my main image I used the flower from True Friend.  I used markers to ink the flower in Pretty in Pink and the stem in Garden Green.  I stamped that on Whisper White.  For the center of the flower I stamped the flower image from True Friend that has the dotted circle around it.  I then punched out the center of this image with the Boho Blossoms punch.  I placed a Pretty in Pink brad in the center and layered on the the flower using a dimensional.  I then layered the Whisper White on to a piece of Purely Pomegranate and attached it to the card.
