Friday Fun Punch Art - Ladybug

Today I'm going to share with you another new series called Friday Fun Punch Art.  Every Friday, I will share with you a new fun creation that you can make just using Stampin' Up! punches.  I just LOVE my punches, especially the new designs.  I love how easy they are to use!  Today's fun punch art creation is a ladybug. 

Isn't she cute?!?  Just think of the things you can do with this lovely ladybug.... I'm picturing a springtime scrapbook page in my mind right now!  I'd love to see what you can come up with using this ladybug.  Post a link to your projects here so we can all see!

Thursday Tool Tip - What's a bone folder do?

Hi Friends! 

I've decided I'm going to implement some new features here at Stacey's Stampin' Space in an effort to provide you with more creative inspiration!  Today I'm going to start with Thursday Tool Tip!  Every Thursday, I will spotlight a tool that you probably already have lying around at home.  I'll share with you the features and benefits of the tool, and try to tell you other ways to use the tool.  Today I'm going to start with something I can't live without.... my bone folder. 

I reach for my bone folder every time I go to make a card because it makes a nice clean and crisp fold.  Some people say they can use their finger/fingernail but I just don't think that works as well.  I also love how you can use it to distress the edges of a card, scrapbook page or even to distress an embellishment. 

Did you also know that you can use the pointed end of the bone folder to score your paper?  Just run the tip along the edge of a ruler or other hard raised surface. If you have a paper cutter that has an optional scoring blade that you haven't quite gotten around to purchasing yet, you can use your bone folder instead.  Simply remove the cutting blade (or move it out of the way) and run the tip of the bone folder along the grooved area of the paper cutter.

Elements of Style

Isn't this card just beautiful?  I love this new set, Elements of Style, from the Summer Mini Catalog.  There is so much you can do with it!

Check out the fancy fold of the ribbon!  We did this at my upline meeting earlier this month and I just had to share this one with you.  I love the layering of the Soft Suede polka dot ribbon, and it's all held together with a square rhinestone brad wrapped around the ribbon.  That simple extra touch adds a touch of elegance to the card, wouldn't you agree!

Birthday Cards!

Who doesn't need birthday cards, right?  That was the theme of my last Stamp-A-Stack earlier this month.  Here's what we made:

Circle Circus meets Cracked Glass technique

Today's card showcases the Circle Circus stamp set which is part of the National Scrapbooking Special this month. Who doesn't love a way to get some free brads?!? I love this card and I will say that I will miss Bermuda Bay when it retires next month.  Speaking of retiring colors, make sure you've placed your orders for your favorite colors on the Fond Farewell list.  Some of them are starting to run out so make sure you figure out what you need and get your orders in now before they run out of your favorites!   If you haven't heard, Stampin' Up! is retiring 30 colors as part of the Color Renovation.  For more details, check out my blog post here.  

The technique featured on this card is the Cracked Glass technique.  To achieve the crackled look, first stamp your image(s) on neutral cardstock.  Then rub versamark over your entire piece of paper and heat emboss it with Glassy Glaze enamel.  Repeat versamark and Glassy Glaze embossing another 3 times.  Place this piece in the freezer for a few minutes.  Remove from freezer and bend paper so it will crack.  Repeat cracking in different directions until you achieve you desired look.

Flower Fancy and Vintage Vogue Wonderful Mother

I'd like to wish all my readers a belated Happy Mother's Day!  Here are a couple of Mother's Day cards that I made.  I love the simplicity of both of these, and the greeting could easily be changed for whatever occasion you are celebrating!

  
I have to begin by telling you first that the yellow (So Saffron) in this card is more subdued in real life.  :)  The card came together very quickly.  The main panel was stamped in Old Olive with one of the outline flowers from Flower Fancy, and the overlay flowers were stamped with So Saffron.  The piece of Old Olive behind the stamped flowers received a fancy touch with theScallop Trim Border.  A piece of Old Olive grosgrain ribbon and a punched greeting fromWell Scripted give this card it's finishing touches.  The greeting was punched with the Scallop Oval punch and someold oliveink was sponged around the edges before the greeting was popped up on this card with dimensionals.  TIP:  Dress up the card a little more by adding Dazzling Diamonds to the center of the flowers. 

 

This next card is a CASE (copy and share everything) of one I received from my upline for being in her top sales group.  Of course the original didn't say Wonderful Mother, but I think the card would be beautiful with any greeting.  The Whisper Whitecard base was embossed with Stampin' Up!'s exclusive Finial Press embossing folder.  The flower is from Vintage Vogue and is hand cut and popped up on a dimensional, after the clear rhinestone brad was placed in the center.  I love the elegant touch from the Black Satin Ribbon, and I think the layers of Basic Black andRich Razzleberry really make this card stand out.   I am thrilled that Vintage Vogue is continuing into the upcoming Idea Book and Catalog and am hopeful that Well Scripted (the greeting) will make an appearance there as well.
