Biography

I live in Purcellville, VA 20132, a suburb of Washington DC located west of Leesburg, VA and Dulles International Airport. I am married and have four wonderful girls, 14, 12, 5 and 4 months old. Needless to say they keep me very busy. :-) I have been a Stampin' Up! demonstrator since August 2006. I love to share my work and enjoy teaching others new tips and techniques. I also enjoy traveling, especially to places with lots of sun and sand!

In my previous life before Stampin’ Up! (SU) I was a hotel manager. I loved the daily interaction with so many different kinds of people, and the extended family that my team and I had become, but when my third daughter was born it was time to make a change. So I left that life to become a SAHM. I have truly enjoyed being home with my girls and have never regretted that decision. But I still need something else in my life to keep me sane. I tried a few different things, but when I found Stampin’ Up! I knew that was the answer. I was first introduced to SU when I went to my neighbor's workshop just because she was my neighbor. I had never heard of SU before and had no idea what it was all about, but I went anyway because she was my friend. I had always enjoyed scrapbooking but had never used rubber stamps or made any handmade cards or anything else. I was immediately hooked. At the time, I was in the planning stages of my oldest daughter's Bat Mitzvah and had the crazy idea that we could make her invitations. I promptly scheduled my own workshop so that I could place a large order for invitation supplies, knowing I would get some great hostess benefits on my own order! My friends and I had a great time! Later, as my daughter and I were working on her invitations, I thought to myself "This is fun....I can do this”. So I signed up to become a demonstrator, and now almost two years later, here I am!

I love that I get to meet so many wonderful and creative people. I love that I get a great discount on all my stamping and scrapbooking supplies. I love that I have a professional challenge to run and manage my own business. I love that I have the flexibility to plan my business activities and classes around my family’s schedule. Now I have to admit I didn’t always love everything, in fact I was scared to death when I first started because I never really considered myself a very creative person. Well I found out pretty quickly that the stamping community is so generous and most everyone shares their ideas and creations and encourage others to CASE their work. [CASE = copy and share everything.] Now that’s another thing I love about this job! I can come up with my own ideas, or I can get inspiration from others, or I can just plain copy from others. I use the SU Idea Book and Catalog, Stampin’ Success (a demonstrator magazine) and many other resources to help me create my projects. So if you are someone who would like to do this, but you think you aren’t creative enough put those fears aside and jump in like I did – you won’t regret it.

I hope you enjoyed reading my little story. I plan to use this blog to share my cards, scrapbook pages and anything else I create and I hope some of you will get inspired by some of my creations. I'd love to hear your own stories or comments any time.
